A chronograph crafted in the military tradition, with three measurement scales and large pushers. In the 1930s, chronographs were all about function. Those sophisticated timepieces were worn by Navy and Air Force officers who used the scales to calculate distance, speed, or even heart rate. They were the smartwatches of their era. I pay tribute to the chronographs of that era because of their beautiful dials that provide a wealth of information and astonishing legibility. Those watches were technical timepieces; thanks to the information they provided, battles were won and lives were saved DH
1939 sits in Dan Henry's catalog as a chronograph-leaning independent watch worth comparing on the details: imagery, movement, case sizing, water resistance, and the official brand listing rather than headline price alone.
