Standards
Editorial Policy
Metropolis is part catalog, part collector guide. These are the standards we use to keep that work useful, honest, and distinct from generic product-feed pages.
Independence
Metropolis Watches is designed as a research and discovery resource for collectors. Brand pages, model pages, and buyer guidance are written to help users compare watches clearly. We do not present manufacturer marketing copy as hands-on review, and we do not claim personal testing unless that has actually happened.
Catalog Notes vs. Reviews
A catalog note may describe positioning, design language, specifications, and what a collector should compare. A review requires direct hands-on experience. If a page is not a hands-on review, we avoid language that implies it is.
First-Pass Editorial Copy
Some editorial blocks are created as first-pass collector guidance from available manufacturer data, normalized specs, and public product context. These blocks are intended to add useful comparison framing, not fake certainty. They may be refined as more information becomes available.
Source Preference
Official brand pages and product pages are preferred sources for model data. Secondary sources can be useful for context, but they do not override official specifications without clear evidence.
Price and Availability
Prices, discounts, stock status, and limited-edition availability can change quickly. Metropolis uses price tiers for browsing and comparison, but users should confirm final purchase details directly with the brand or authorized seller.
Corrections and Updates
If a collector, brand, or reader finds an issue, we want to fix it. Corrections may include specs, images, country data, source links, discontinued status, or wording that needs more precision.
