Every watch brand has an origin story, but few begin with something as relatable as a spouse asking for more closet space.

Santurce Collection was founded in Puerto Rico by husband-and-wife team José and Anita, but the story starts long before they ever designed their first watch. Like many collectors, José had accumulated a collection of watches over the years. When Anita suggested it might be time to free up a little drawer space, several of those watches found their way into the local collector community.

What happened next was completely unexpected.

The watches José sold developed a reputation. They were well-chosen pieces, offered at fair prices, and collectors began referring to them as part of the "#SanturceCollection." At the time, it wasn't a company, a logo, or a business plan. It was simply a phrase used within the community to describe a good watch at a good price.

Most brands start with a product and then try to build a community around it.

Santurce Collection did the opposite.

The community came first.

As the name gained recognition among enthusiasts, José and Anita realized they had an opportunity to create something larger than a watch sale. They envisioned a brand that could represent Puerto Rico on the global horological stage while staying true to the values that made the original Santurce Collection special: accessibility, authenticity, thoughtful design, and a genuine connection to fellow collectors.

Today, Santurce Collection has evolved into an independent microbrand producing watches designed from Puerto Rico and inspired by the culture, character, and pride of the island. Their watches are built to deliver strong value and distinctive design, but what truly sets them apart is the story behind them.

Santurce Collection caught our attention because it wasn't born in a boardroom or created to chase trends. It grew organically from a group of enthusiasts sharing their passion for watches with one another.
