Since the launch of Landsort in 2011, it has become a crucial part of Sjöö Sandströms backbone and DNA. Its design is completely unique and cant be found anywhere else. This new version fulfills all its predecessors promises: to meet the Swedish Navys demands and deliver exquisite style. The new Landsort D5 has a black Sand pattern dial with applied indices and hands in white Super-LumiNova that ensuring legibility in dark and deep waters. This version comes with two bezels, one in black sapphire crystal and one in solid bronze. The caseback is made of steel to prevent discoloration and odors that can occur when bronze is worn directly against the skin. The caseback is decorated with a diving helmet, a tribute to those before us who pushed the boundaries of what is possible. Bronze not only pleases the eye from an aesthetic perspective, it is also a function-driven choice. It is one of the oldest materials in human history with qualities such as durability and flexibility. The material also has strong associations with the sea with its natural resistance to corrosion. The tone and coating of the bronze change over time, with a brown, red, or blue-green patina forming as a natural sign of corrosion., giving each watch its unique character.
